No anesthesia. I had 6 less than half inch cuts. Achilles was pulled down thru those and reattached. Much easier recovery than the 4 inch incission. 5 weeks in a cast and then 6 weeks in a boot. I'm at week 2 in the boot. So glad to be walking in the boot without crutches. Stretching exercises and massage is great. I performed the simple squeeze test myself and realized what the injury was. Got an MRI to confirm. I have a 99% achilles rupture. Weird thing is I can still walk on it pretty well as of the moment. First few days was painful and swelled purple. Currently It doesnt hurt at all! Its been 8 days since I tore my achilles breakdancing and it feels like its healing itself. The treatment plan was to put me out -- repair the rutpure and have me stay the night for observation. The surgeon sure enough knocked me out -- I slept like a kitten for 2.5 hours and woke up pain-free. In fact, I felt so good that I went home a couple of hours later. I've been in and out of the cast and I have about a week left in my Walking-boot.
